Over the weekend I made a library bag for my grandaughter Ava who starts school tomorrow. This is the first sewing project I’ve taken on in a while as I had surgery on my hand towards the end of last year. When I finished I realised that a library bag should have a drawstring so hastily had to do some unpicking and insert one. Ava selected the fabric from my stash, she loves cats and was really excited when the bag was finished, so was I! I used a friends’ machine as mine is still with the technician, I’m really yearning to do some machine quilting at the moment!
I’m still without my sewing machine, my very kind neighbour has offered to lend me hers as I need to make a library bag for my grandaughter who starts school next week. Mind you it is a bit on the hot side for sewing here in Perth! During the week I have been busy getting my quilts together for a talk I’m giving for WAQA next week. It has been like a trip down memory lane, both the quilts pictured were made and machine quilted in 1995. I’m pleased to say my quilting has improved since that time
Welcome to Pieces of Pye blog!
At last I am able to begin machine quilting again, after an enforced breaking following surgery to my right hand. But, Alas I have no sewing machine, the technician collected it a week ago to update the software and I haven’t seen it since so I’m going a bit stir crazy with no quilting to work on. Nevertheless this has freed up some time to play with my camera and practice my photography skills! I have of course been photographing quilts, some of which you will see on this site. I just couldn’t resist throwing a photo in of my dog Abby though.
