Going Round in Cirles

That’s the theme for the forthcoming QuiltWest exhibition which happens here in Perth from the end of May. It is now nearly 2 weeks since my machine quilting workshop and I haven’t stopped since. Entries are up on last years exhibition with over 175 quilts entered in the main QuiltWest exhibition.  Last Wednesday was what is called sort day. This is the day the committee get together and allocate hanging  positions for the quilts entered. These decisions are based on photographs of the entries sent in by our members. Looking at the photographs indicates that the exhibition will have a splendid display of quilts. So do come along.

No this is not my entry in QuiltWest, this is  one of the samples I displayed at my machine quilting workshop.  I quilted this panel to display a variety of different backgrounds that can be used for machine quilting. I had 14 lovely students in my class and all of them did some amazing work. I hope the ladies enjoyed the class as much as I did. Below are some photos of the girls at work.

This is Jan busy at work drawing feathers on her machine. She looks to be concentrating very hard. Here are a few members of the class hard at work with Susan in the foreground.

More of the girls hard at work during the workshop, Bev is in the foreground. During the class I mentioned several good websites that provide information about machine quilting. A few of these websites can be reached by clicking the links under blog roll on the side bar of this page.
